Got a new Pixel 4 for hella cheap. Came with a free gift too!

If anyone is interested a clean pixel 3 in good condition other than a finicky usb-c port, let me know, very cheap for you today my friend!

Having fixed my share of finicky charging ports a few tools and a little know-how and it'll be fixed with a fairly cheap pre-made board. Did my fair share of iPhone replacements while working at Verizon, I'd imagine they weren't too happy about that one.

How cheap was the Pixel 4?  I purchased a used 3xl a few months ago, even though I knew it has battery life issues (mainly when connected to WiFi -- super weird).

I already have a Pixel 3 with a finicky USB-C port, thanks. I've been tempted to replace it a couple of times but I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I don’t think I’d really even notice if my phone had a finicky charging port. In almost a year of ownership I’ve connected a cable to it once for charging, once for the initial transfer, and twice for USB tethering.

Time for wireless android auto? Unfortunately the roll out has been painfully slow, with very few options.

My car is much too old to have even wired android auto so I just stick it in a wireless charging mount. I could get an aftermarket unit with wireless AA, but spending $700+ and futzing about with complicated steering wheel control adapters, and losing the factory console look on a car I’m guessing I won’t keep longer than another year seems like a poor decision.

I thought my Pixel 3 had a broken USB port but turns out there was just a ton of lint trapped in the corners.

Take a safety pin (or something similar) and a can of compressor and REALLY dig in the corners and all the way at the top. Blow it all out with the air occasionally . Should be like new.

Mine works flawlessly now.

Like, $75? keep in mind, the USB-c port is not fantastic.  It works, but it is VERY touchy.  I’ve lived with it for a long time with wireless charging, but it is time for an upgrade

Yeah that probably wouldn’t work for me because I use the USB c for wired Shure ear buds and also for my drone.  Can you give me a heads up on where you got the deal on the 4...if it’s something I could jump on or was it tied to a plan?

I got it financed over 24 months (0% interest) with Telus. But you can buy it outright from them, unlocked with no plan.

What carrier? The Pixel 2 supports wifi calling (I use it on Verizon).

The last two updates seem to have really hurt my battery life. I was hoping to make it another year with the 2.

For some reason Telus doesn’t support the 2’s wifi calling.  Don’t know the technical reasons.  Even the “techs” who were probably googling it, were using the online how to from Verizon.  When they talked to someone else they confirmed it can’t.

Heh, I like how they called it the “LG Pixel”, when in reality it’s made by Foxconn designed by the old HTC team.

And it looks like Telus’ site was updated to stop people from buying hardware only if you’re not a customer.
